WARBRINGER: Audio Interview Posted Online
May 11, 2010On May 8, Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal of Metal Assault conducted an interview with lead singer John Kevill of Los Angeles thrashers WARBRINGER when the band played the Ultra Violet Social Club in Los Angeles as part of the annual Thrasho De Mayo festival. You can now listen to the chat in two parts below.
WARBRINGER last year parted ways with bassist Ben Bennett and was rejoined by Andy Laux. Andy played on the group's debut, "War Without End", but was unable to join his bandmates for any of the touring due to him still being in high school. Now with his studies complete, Andy has been focusing on sound engineering and even built his own home garage studio.
"Waking Into Nightmares", the sophomore album from WARBRINGER, sold around 2,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The CD landed at position No. 14 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
"Waking Into Nightmares" was released on May 19, 2009 via Century Media Records. The CD was mixed by Zack Ohren (SUFFOCATION, ALL SHALL PERISH) and the cover artwork was created by esteemed artist Dan Seagrave (MORBID ANGEL, ENTOMBED).
WARBRINGER's latest album was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California with axeman/producer Gary Holt (EXODUS).
